My chicken yard is my “STILL ROOST”. My happy place. My place of peace when life on the other side of the fence is completely out of my control.

In early summer 2019 my marriage was rocked. I found myself walking down a long, dark road that had no end in sight.

Fortunately, two months before my life changed so dramatically, God gave me the desire to grow my flock and start a garden.

He knew that I would need a “STILL ROOST”. A refuge. A quiet place where the noise and stress of the world could fall away.

On this blog you’ll find useful information about chickens and gardening. Even more than that, though, I hope you feel encouraged and empowered to build your personal “STILL ROOST".

I believe that Jesus brings beauty from ashes. In that process of rebuilding we all need a secret place to retreat to. Mine is my chicken yard. What’s yours?
