Welcome to Still Roost! I’m so glad you’re here! For me, my chickens are more than just livestock, they are my passion! They bring me joy, provide me a place that brings me peace, and fill me with purpose.
I received my first hens 4 years ago, thinking nothing other than it would be nice to have fresh eggs for my family. Little did I know how quickly and deeply these ladies would steal my heart.
Fast forward four years later and my life is changed! My flock has grown from 4 to 25 members (the number is always changing!), 8 different breeds of hens, a whole new group of friends who share the love of chickens with me and that I glean so much knowledge from, and more than 7,500 followers on my Instagram (@still_roost) that’s dedicated to the daily happenings of my chickens. I also host #spreadthejoysaturday on instagram every weekend; a hashtag with a soul purpose of sharing what brings you joy and spreading that joy with others. The goal? To “flood the feed” with positivity and be a source of happiness to those that follow us. I hope to see you this Saturday! You’ll be joining the best hashtag crew around!
But through it all, I’m most thankful that I have found my “Still Roost”. That special place that brings stillness and peace to the crazy chaos happening outside the walls of my chicken yard. What a blessing that has been!
Chickens have clearly become a huge part of my life and I enjoy learning and growing in my love and knowledge of these special creatures daily. I hope that my love and passion as well as some helpful tips comes through these pages and you can take a piece of joy with you even after you’ve logged off!
